Communication Guidelines
The KliK Foundation must be referenced in every communication activity relating to a project supported by the KliK Foundation. The following are examples of recommendations on how the emission reductions achieved by a project should or should not be communicated. If possible, reference should be made to the KliK Foundation's website. Ideally, the KliK Foundation should be presented in an info box or in a short text using the logo.
When mentioning the KliK Foundation, please note the following:
Correct naming: Foundation for Climate Protection and Carbon Offset KliK
The 'K' in KliK is written in capital letters
The 2 in CO2 is subscripted: CO₂
The name of the Foundation should be written out in full once within the communication
The following abbreviation is permitted: KliK Foundation
The following spellings should be avoided when mentioning the KliK Foundation:
'KliK' detached from 'Foundation'
Klik, kliK, klik
Foundation for Climate Protection and Carbon Offset KliK
Foundation for Climate Protection and Carbon Offset KliK (without KliK)
If the KliK Foundation is described in info boxes, for example, the following texts should be used:
The following wording is recommended as part of a communication measure:
The project was realised in cooperation with the KliK Foundation.
Thanks to the cooperation with the KliK Foundation, the project could be realised.
The project was realised thanks to funding from the KliK Foundation.
The project was realised thanks to funding from the KliK Foundation.
When communicating about the emission reductions achieved, it must be clearly stated that these were achieved with the support of the KliK Foundation, reported as the impact of statutory offset of motor fuels, or contribute to improving Switzerland’s greenhouse gas balance. This could be done as follows:
“Our business is continuously reducing its greenhouse gas emissions. This includes measures that we finance ourselves and those supported by the national climate instrument to offset motor fuels. The achievement of these emission reductions is real, measurable and certified by the federal government. It improves both our business’s carbon footprint and Switzerland’s overall carbon footprint. We communicate these emission reductions transparently and make a clear distinction between our own contributions and those that are subsidised.”
The following ways of speaking are recommended:
The emission reductions achieved through the project are reported as part of the impact of the statutory offset of motor fuels scheme.
Our project forms part of the reported impact of the statutory offset of motor fuels scheme.
Thanks to financial support from the KliK Foundation, the project reduces x tonnes of CO₂e per year / x tonnes of CO₂e by 2030.
Thanks to financial support from the KliK Foundation, we supply climate-friendly heat and thus contribute to the impact of statutory offset of motor fuels.
Thanks to financial support from the KliK Foundation, we operate with low CO2 emissions and thus contribute to the impact of statutory offset of motor fuels.
Thanks to the financial support of the KliK Foundation, we provide climate-friendly cooling and thereby contribute to the impact of statutory offset of motor fuels.
Thanks to the financial support of the KliK Foundation, you save fossil fuels with us and at the same time contribute to the impact of statutory offset of motor fuels.
Thanks to the financial support of the KliK Foundation, we improve our carbon footprint and at the same time contribute to the impact of statutory offset of motor fuels.
The following ways of speaking should be avoided:
Statements using “we” without reference to the KliK Foundation or statutory offset of motor fuels.
We are / our product is CO₂-neutral or climate-neutral thanks to the project.
Thanks to the project, we are achieving our climate targets.
The project contributes x tonnes of CO₂ reduction towards our business’s climate target.
The project is part of our climate strategy to reduce emissions by x%.
